On The Right Track

As I opened my eyes on an early morning of Thursday, I knew this day would be an unforgotten experience of mine, the most memorable journey I will go through.

Today was the day I choose to experience the journey of travelling by train. I woke up got all ready, met my friends and walked with excitement towards the train station in Prishtina. Being the first time doing something new was making me feel a little scared but also excited in the same time. I was very curious about the feeling and the memories I would make through this journey so nothing could stop me.

As I arrived at the train station a girl was sitting on a bench, as she saw me maybe looking lost she asked me where I was going, so I told her about the blog I had to write and the train ride I had to take. She was very kind and explained to me on details about the train schedule and its journey. She helped me a lot since it was the first time for me. She then told me that this train has been since a hundred years and that before it went abroad Kosovo for people who traveled to different states but since a few years it was just here in Kosovo. I then knew how old this train was and started to be a little scared but I still choose to trust the journey as I should.

There were a few minutes left and the train would arrive. Time was passing fast, I knew it was because I was nervous but I just calmed myself and waited.

The train arrived, many passengers got out the train and now my turn to enjoy the journey.

As the train came I walked in, finally now I could experience how a train looks from inside and not just by photos or films I saw.

While I was walking in I saw that the train was separated in wagons which were divided by glass doors. I could recognize that it was an old one since some windows were broken, and the doors made a strange noise while people came in.

Never mind I found a seat and sat. The ticket man was very kind and pointed us out to the wagon which had better conditions such as more comfortable seats and clear windows.

As we had some minutes left for the train to leave I took the opportunity to take a photo. The view was amazing and impressive.

7:50 the train was ready to leave, and I was ready to experience this journey.I heard the horn of the train which made me feel a bit stressed, the train started moving and all I could hear was the noise of the rail, some passengers chatting and the snow falling which made this experience even more unforgettable. I sat by the window and what I got to see was different villages, a locomotive, mountains, pits filled with water which reminded me of village life and its positive aspect.

Therefore, it was now time to get out the train, since we arrived in our destination. I now was not happy to get out since I was feeling safe and warm inside but however I had to,  so I sadly did. Besides leaving behind good memories of mine.

I recommend everyone to travel by train, It was a never forgetten experience and it was even cheaper than bus. (60 cents to Drenas)

Doing it with friends made it even more fun.

Njomza Zeqiri's experience for you..
