The glimpse of a beautiful masterpiece

Art has its own ways of enchanting people and grabbing their attention. Even something that you thought was boring at first if you pay attention to it you start to find it fascinating.
This time I decided to visit the graffiti murals at Street B in Prishtina, since they were painted recently. Looking at those murals during night made them look even more meaningful and astonishing.

Even though artists were restricted to spray paint something offensive regarding politics or cultures, they managed to create something that would touch people's hearts. Those people were gathered from different countries and cultures but what really impressed me and I found spectacular is how they found a way to connect their murals, so through this I could see how art brings people together. It also seemed that I wasn't the only one impressed, because I saw other people taking pictures and heard them discussing about it.

This mural is still stuck on my mind due to its connection to racism. This one made me realize how hard it is even now for people with dark skin to live in this world. The awful comparisons people make about them without thinking how it might affect them. All the murals this artist did represented his race, but what was even more beautiful was the message shown in this picture: “ Hate has no place here!” I was amazed and understood even better the opportunities that art gives people to express themselves and things concerning them, but at the same time it brings awareness among people and maybe even change their opinions regarding a certain topic.

At first glance this mural reminded me of the Yin and Yang but this one was kind of elevated, I was captivated by it, because the white one looked like a doll and the other one like a fox, it immediately gave me that idea of interconnectedness between humans and animals because in order for this world to function it needs both, somehow they complete each other.
Being opened to various interpretations, I think this is the beauty of art, of murals in this case and this is what makes it so special and attractive.

As we were passing by this mural with my friend we stopped for a moment and thought about the connection we could feel with it. We realized that it was due to many situations in our life that we find ourselves in when we feel lost, we can’t see the solution, when everything feels strange and dark. Maybe we don’t see the hope in those moments, we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel but others do. Definitely sometimes what you do not see in yourself others see in you, just like we could see the light surrounding that lonely child.

After all visiting these murals was one of the best decisions I made because these murals were meaningful but at the same time pleasant to look at them. Moreover I experienced different emotions, at times I felt sad, sometimes I felt happy because the colors gave me good vibes, sometimes I felt confused trying to find out what a certain mural meant, but most of all I felt glad that Kosovo was becoming more colorful every day and it’s becoming a place that unites different cultures through art.
So trust me when I say that not only these murals but all of them in Kosovo are worth visiting.
