A trip down memory lane

Another day! Another story to share!

Dear readers, I am starting today's blog by telling you about a place.

This is the entrance of the Green Market that is located in Prishtina, Kosovo.

From the first glance it looks simply neat, doesn't it?

Would you have guessed that this market is one of the oldest places in the city?

It's been a while since I've been here, but I know the place by heart, for it being one of the first places I remember from my childhood. I used to walk down this road when I went to my uncle's house and even then, it was one of the busiest places where people walked up and down all the time.

There are all sorts of things you can find here starting from fruits and vegetables leading up to different items of clothing and so on.

People here won't hesitate to assist you with whatever you need help with.

One of the reasons people are frequent here is the quality of fruits and vegetables.

This is one of the many places that sells fruits and vegetables here. What can help you while shopping for them is comparing the prices and seeing where you could get it for a lower one.

I wouldn't push my luck if I were you! The greengrocers only agree to reasonable amount of discount.

There's a remarkable phrase they use:

"If you want more discount than this I might as well give it to you for free", meaning that you are asking for the impossible.

This is one of the many Albanian sayings we use, and boy am I a fan of those. At the end of the day, they make us special in our way.

Here you can see a beautiful dowry shop and other fabric materials which could be helpful if any of you are planning a wedding soon.

Aside from all this the best thing about this place is the atmosphere. Whenever I pass by there is always loud music playing and salesmen talking to each other about their day. They might not have much but they make the most out of it.

The number of times I've been here is innumerable and not once has this place failed to amaze me.           It reminds me of all the good times I have cherished and especially the excitement I felt every single time I visited my uncle. Ever since my grandma passed away, I haven't been able to visit that house anymore and neither walk past this local market. Nowadays it feels like I no longer have time to enjoy the things that make me happy, but I know that I'll never let go of these memories.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you.
If you ever find yourself visiting this place don't worry about getting lost. Every exit will lead you to a part of the city, so you'll still find your way out.

I know everyone has a story to tell and I'm happy I got to share mine with you.
I think you should check this place out and not only because I could've made you curious. You might end up buying things you never thought you needed, and the prices are really convenient too.

Don't hesitate to create your own memories.
